What is Piles ?
Piles, also known as hemorrhoids, are swollen and inflamed veins in the lower rectum and anus. They can cause discomfort, pain, and bleeding, especially during bowel movements.
Internal Hemorrhoids : These are located inside the rectum and are usually not visible. They rarely cause discomfort, but they can bleed and, in some cases, prolapse (slip outside the anus).
External Hemorrhoids : These develop under the skin around the anus and can be painful, especially when swollen or irritated. They may also bleed or form clots (thrombosed hemorrhoids), which can lead to severe pain.
What is Fistula ?
A fistula is an abnormal connection or passageway that forms between two organs, vessels, or tissues in the body that are not normally connected. Fistulas can develop in various parts of the body and are often the result of injury, infection, inflammation, or surgery.
Anal Fistula : A common type of fistula that forms between the end of the bowel (rectum) and the skin near the anus. It usually occurs as a result of an abscess (a collection of pus) that drains to the skin but leaves a persistent tunnel behind.
What are Fissures ?
Fissures refer to small tears or splits in the lining of certain tissues. While the term can be used in different medical contexts, it most commonly refers to anal fissures, which are tears in the lining of the anus.
Anal Fissures : An anal fissure is a small tear in the thin, moist tissue (mucosa) that lines the anus. This condition can cause significant pain, especially during bowel movements, and may be accompanied by bleeding.
What is Pilonidal Sinus ?
A Pilonidal Sinus is a small, abnormal channel or tunnel in the skin, usually located near the tailbone at the top of the buttocks. This sinus or tract often contains hair, skin debris, and other tissue. It can become infected and filled with pus, leading to the formation of a painful cyst or abscess.

Swelling or a lump near the anus.
-
Bleeding during or after bowel movements, typically bright red blood.

Mucus discharge after passing stool.
-
Protrusion of hemorrhoids outside the anus, particularly after a bowel movement (in the case of prolapsed hemorrhoids).
Anal Fissure

Sharp, severe pain during and after bowel movements, often described as feeling like passing broken glass.
-
Bright red blood on the stool or toilet paper after bowel movements.

Visible tear or crack in the skin around the anus.

Spasms of the anal sphincter muscle, which can worsen the pain.
Fistula
-
Persistent pain and swelling around the anus or perianal area.
-
Discharge of pus or blood from an opening near the anus.
-
Recurrent abscesses in the same area.
-
Painful bowel movements or irritation during or after passing stool.
-
Foul-smelling discharge if the fistula is infected.

A small lump or swelling near the anus, which may be tender or painful.
Pilonidal Sinus

Pain and tenderness at the base of the spine (tailbone) or top of the buttocks.
-
Redness and swelling around the affected area.
-
Pus or blood discharge from an opening in the skin near the tailbone.
-
Foul-smelling discharge if the sinus is infected.
-
Formation of a cyst or abscess, which may become swollen and painful.

Fever or malaise in cases of severe infection or abscess formation.

Advantages of Laser Treatment
-
Minimally Invasive : Laser treatments require smaller incisions, resulting in less tissue damage.
-
Precision : Lasers provide highly targeted treatment, reducing the risk of affecting surrounding healthy tissues.
-
Less Pain and Bleeding : The coagulative properties of lasers lead to minimal bleeding and post-operative pain.
-
Faster Recovery : Patients typically experience quicker recovery times and can return to daily activities sooner.
-
Reduced Risk of Complications : The minimally invasive nature of laser procedures lowers the risk of infections, scarring, and other complications.
